Read-a-thon 10/14-11/01

Read-a-thon: Starts October 14th!

The annual Read-a-thon at Clark raises funds to help support community events and school grants throughout the year. Prizes are awarded for classes with the most minutes read and students who raise the most funds. Packets were sent home yesterday (you may get today when your kid gets home) and you can find another copy of the packet here. Visit our fundraising site starting Oct. 14th to get started! First turn in deadline is the 18th!**

Campaign Site here

**if your student has read 100 minutes before the 18th, turn in slips this Thursday. If they read 100 minutes by the 18th, you can turn in the slip on Monday (but no later) to have it count towards the reward.

What does the Clark PTA do?

We are a 501c3 nonprofit that supports the students and staff at Clark Elementary. We do this with fundraisers and membership. How do we support them? By gifting grants to each classroom, grade level, and school use throughout the year. We also oversee the art docent program at Clark. This program, with the help of parent volunteers, gives art once a month in the classrooms as well as a yearly clay project.

There are many myths about PTAs. Here are a few and their truths:

Myth 1: Joining the PTA requires you to volunteer.

Truth: If you want to volunteer, that’s great, but your support as a member is enough.

Myth 2: PTA Membership never expires.

Truth: you need to join every year. Even though membership generally runs annually July – June, you can join anything during the year.

Myth 3: PTA is only a social club.

Truth: The PTA is a membership-based advocacy association. Local PTAs build community between schools and families. Join to have your voice heard!
